Masjid-E-Quba history

Masjid al-Quba is located near the city of Medina in Saudi Arabia. It is also blessed with the fact that it was the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) who put the foundation stone of this mosque. According to Islamic belief, if somebody offers two rak’ah nafl prayers in Masjid al-Quba he gets an equal reward from Allah as of an Umrah. Masjid al-Quba will always be celebrated as the first mosque built in the history of Islam. This mosque was built right away after the Hijra.
Prophet of Islam Muhammad (peace be upon him) had a routine of visiting Masjid al-Quba on Saturdays. He used to offer two rak’ah prayer there. He also directed others to follow his sunah.
Prophet said, “Whoever makes ablutions at home and then goes and prays in the Masjid al-Quba, he will have a reward like that of an ‘Umrah.”
